How To Find Them
BPW was founded in 1919, following a wae council on women in the workplace during wartime. BPW was chartered in June 1927 in Norristown along with longtime member Sally Shaw. The mission of the organization is to collaborate and promote pay equity, workplace equality and legislative initiatives. The organization encourages women to empower each other to reach their full potential, personally, professionally and politically.

BPW is fond of giving back to the community through donations to nonprofit organizations such as veteran programs, the Mary Walker House, Norristown Vet Center, Norristown State Hospital, Norristown Patrician Society Foodbank, Laurel House, Cribs for Kids as well as to speakers and their non profits.
“One of our biggest accomplishments was raising $4, 000 at our triumphant return to Bingo in December 2021 at Maggiano’s! All proceeds benefited our community and all prizes were donated by local merchants. Our goal is always to grow our organization. And during the pandemic, we did just that. Our secret, being a member of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, said Becky Shoulberg.”
BPW has been “the voice of working women” for over 90 years, serving the women of our communities, advocating for issues that impact women’s lives and careers. And will continue its mission to bring awareness to pay equity, workplace equality and women’s self-efficiency.
BPW meets the third Thursday of the month from September to June at Maggiano’s Little Italy restaurant, 205 Mall Blvd. King of Prussia, PA. All dinner meetings are $30. Doors open at 5:30 PM. We start promptly at 6:00 PM. All meetings are open to the public. Membership is not needed to attend.
