At Natural Balance Gymnastics, gymnastics is much more than just a weekly class, it is changing the lives of children.

Founder, Kelly McPeak, has always had a passion for gymnastics and helping children. She first started her coaching career by accident. While working at a local gym in high school, McPeak started helping kids. Noticing her passion and talent for working with children, the manager of the gym offered her a job.

“Once I got involved in gymnastics and started teaching, I knew it was the thing for me,” McPeak states.

McPeak continued her passion and became a certified Level 10 Women’s Gymnastics Judge. In 2000, she opened a mobile gymnastics school called Twisters Gymnastics, Inc. She traveled around Montgomery and Bucks Counties teaching to kids at local daycares and schools.

After having two kids of her own and taking a break from teaching, McPeak relaunched her mobile business in 2015. With these successes, she wanted to create something bigger for her students.

“I have never wanted to do anything else with my life, so I thought, ‘let’s do it!’ ” she states.

Natural Balance Gymnastics opened its doors in August 2018 in Colmar. They teach approximately 55 children a week; offering classes for toddlers ages six and up.

The Parents Tots class allows parents to work with their children and focus on movement exploration. Classes for three to five-year-olds learn more tactical movements, such as landing safely, forward rolls, balance, and falling safely. For kids in the six and up classes, McPeak teaches more gymnastics oriented and physical education skills. Natural Balance Gymnastics offers beginner, intermediate and advanced classes for kids ages six and up.

In addition to the physical benefits, McPeak also emphasizes self-confidence, internal growth, communication, and overcoming fears in all of her classes.

“It’s about meeting the kids where they are, trying to help them grow and develop that next level of confidence in themselves,” she states.

Natural Balance Gymnastics offers birthday parties and field trips for kids. They also host fundraisers for local nonprofits.

Natural Balance Gymnastics is a family affair. McPeak’s two sons, James and Thomas, assist at the business and help out at local events. Her husband, Al, also helps out by maintaining the building and spreading awareness about the business.

For McPeak, giving kids a space to grow physically and emotionally is what she loves the most.

“I want to make a difference for every kid that walks through our doors,” she states.
